Black and White Lace

Just in time for a last minute Valentine card what about this black and white lace, nice change from red.

BW1

This card was made as a sample for my test workshop last month. The stamps sets are from Woodware (ADS108 and ADS515).

I used this sketch as a starting point

25-July2013

The card is A4 folded in half so a nice big card.

BW2

I cut a black panel and then rounded the corners.

BW3

For the second panel I stamped the lace background stamps twice, if you look closely you can see the join.

But the join is hidden by the top panel. For the greeting I used the same ink but it was a second print from the stamp so it is grey, I like the tone on tone effect that it gives.

Here are the stamps

Woodware – Thank You – take 2

This week on Woodware Witterings we are saying Thank You

1

and for this card I have used the Francoise Collection Distressed Thank You Background.

3

First I stamped on the Woodware Mixed Media card, it is a nice large stamp.

4

then I pressed Crafter’s ink pads in Sweet Pea, Blue Berry. and Aruba oon to my hot stuff mat. I used a water brush to pick up the ink and coloured all over with the various colours.

5

when the card was dry I wrapped some 15mm organza ribbon around it.

6

I just knotted some extra ribbon at the join.

2

The layered it on to some dark card.

I mounted it all on to a gate fold card, made from a piece of Mixed Media card cut down to A5 and the scored on the Groovy Board.

Thanks for visiting, and don’t forget to check out what the rest of the Woodware Witterings team has been up to!

Woodware and Crafty Cardmakers – Non Traditional Christmas – take 2

Woodware are again sponsoring Crafty Cardmakers this week the theme is Non-Traditional Christmas the theme runs for two weeks on their blog.craftycardmakers2016

Don’t forget to check out the Crafty Cardmakers blog and play along with us all, we have a prize!

I have a ribbon tree or four for you today

29

I saw this on pinterest, and think it is a perfect idea for an none traditional card, and of course the Woodware Gingham Ribbon

25

I cut a triangle (well I folded some thin card in half and chopped it, then I measured and made holes in a rectangle of card, and used my Woodware Pierce it Tool to make evenly space holes. This became my template.

26

Then I added the ribbon.

30

I tried various ways to do this.

28

But in the end I decided that cutting the lengths for each row war the easiest way to keep the ribbon even and not rip the holes too much by putting them under pressure.

27

I had cut my four cards for the front the same size as my template before I started.

37

I just used double-sided tape to attach the fronts, although 3D mounting tape would work really well.

33

I Frantaged my star buttons not sure what I would do without these Woodware buttons

34

this is the navy gingham

36

This is the berry gingham.

27

and the turquoise.

I hope that you like my none traditional Christmas cards, I liked creating this card using the bright ribbon making a very traditional Christmas image non traditional.

Don’t forget to check out what the rest of the Woodware Witterings team have come up with for a Non Traditional Christmas week and why not play along at Crafty Cardmakers.

Woodware and Crafty Cardmakers – Non Traditional Christmas

Woodware are again sponsoring Crafty Cardmakers this week the theme is Non-Traditional Christmas the theme runs for two weeks on their blog.craftycardmakers2016

Don’t forget to check out the Crafty Cardmakers blog and play along with us all, we have a prize!

12

Well I think that this is pretty non-traditional, it is a theme that I was not sure about so this card is definitely not a robin or a fireplace.

2

First I lined up my Woodware Lolly Sticks on my very scruffy cutting mat.

3

I cut some Double sided sticky sheet to hold them together, and then stick them on the card when I was ready.

4

I hope that you can see may very elaborate Christmas tree

5

I have added the Mask-it Sheet

6

Then i have coloured my tree with Jungle Crafters ink

7

I have used a stencil brush and I love that you can see the wood texture.

8

I have glues on some Mini Light Bulbs, I have used Glossy Accents to attach them.

9

Then I have added the baubles, well some Stickles and some Silver Pearl Pen from Dutch Doobadoo.

11

I have made my wobbly line with a Sakura Micron Pen.

13

I have Frantaged my star button for the top of the tree.

10

The tree truck is just a chopped off lolly pop stick, coloured with Bark Crafters.

Woodware – Sketch 57 – Take 2

I am back again with another take on this weeks sketch over on Woodware Witterings

11

This is the Francoise Collection Clear Magic stamp Flowering Bike

12

I have simply stamped with Bark Crafters ink from ClearSnap I have stamped on A4 Cream Linen card

13

I stamped it again on some pre-cut plain cream card and some pink.

14

Then I put the layers together.

15

I used my Tombow Glue stick so that I can move the pieces around to get them perfectly lined up, well I hope that they are perfectly lined up!

16

I then coloured in with a mixture of Sakura Water colour pencils and my Stardust gel pens.

17

the colours are just slightly darker on the pink card, but you can still see them.

18

I used Sakura Micron pen to add the faux stitching.

11

not a bad take on the sketch even if I say so myself…

I stamped with the Bark Crafters pad on the ribbon and remembered to attach it around the pink panel before attaching it to the card!

Don’t forget to check out what the rest of the team have been up to on Woodware Witterings. Thanks for visiting see you soon!

Woodware – Sketch 57

This week on Woodware Witterings we have a sketch

57

and here is my first take of the week on it

9

I have used one of Jane Gill’s popular Clear Magic Bubble Bloom stamps this one is called Lilly and is from the July 2016 release.

1

First I stamped and embossed in silver, and then coloured the petals with Koi Brush Pens, place my foam pads where I planned to put the Card Candi and then started adding the Mark Richards 5mm Pearls.

2

I realised that I didn’t like the blue of the leaves, so I added another colour on top, you can see the aqua colour on its own too. I rather like the 2 tone effect on the leaves.

4

The Card Candi is Time Flies and I added Glossy Accents to the aqua bubbles. the tiny bubbles have been Stickled with Aqua.

5

The papers are Time Flies too, I hope that you can see that I have sprayed the background paper with the blue colour from the Rangers Dylusions Mica Sprays, it is very subtile but lovely, of course it shows up more on dark papers.

6

I have embossed in silver around all of the layers.

10

I made a mistake when I was putting the card together and had trouble added the ribbon, it should have been added before I put the layers together!

8

I stamped and embossed the greeting from the same stamp set on the Time Flies paper, and used the Tag Top punch.

9

Thanks for visiting and don’t forget to check out what the rest of the team come up with this week on Woodware Witterings

Woodware – Christmas Tags

This week Woodware Witterings we are looking at tags for your wonderful Christmas pressies

3

I am rather pleased with these tags, very simple and inspired by a card on Pinterest that had used buttons.

4

Yes Tag Top Punch strikes again, perfect for this weeks posts.

1

I have used the Mixed Media card and a Brown Pigma Micron pen

5

Then added tartan Card Candi

7

With Tartan Ribbon to finish off.

3

Simple but effective, I am going to wrap the parcels in brown paper and add some tartan ribbon.

Don’t forget to check out what the rest of the team get up too on Woodware Witterings thanks for visiting see you soon!

Quick Christmas Cards…time is running out! – take 2

Here I have another quick card for you, this time very plain blue and silver

6

I love this Clear Magic stamp designed by Jane Snowflake Flower so quick to use, not that it has to be, it could be a much more time-consuming design of card.

8

I stamped it on the Mid Blue Recycled Card and trimmed it down. I made it into a small card 12cm square.

7

The greeting comes with the flower, I have stamped it on the same card and then coloured around the edges with the Purple Crafters Ink. I just run the card gently through the ink pad. It is enough to give the illusion of another layer and very quick!

9

I small piece of ribbon under the greeting and around the panel finished the card off.

Thanks for visiting, don’t forget to check out Woodware Witterings for more inspiration see you soon!
