Creative Expressions Mixed Media Mayhem

Fancy taking part in a challenge? You will find all the details over on Creative Expressions Mixed Media Group

So this is day 3 and I have managed to make something, where does time go?

This is my Stencil effort.

I have used the Pink Ink Multi-Surface paint in Turquoise Wave and Royal Purple Lustre. all stuck down with Cosmic Shimmer glue.
The stencil is Hearts and Flowers (CEST026) designed to fit on the Artist Trading Elements. The background circles are punched but the black one is one of the Artist Trading Coins (CEMDFATCOIN) which I have painted with black gesso and then stencilled.
The butterflies are from my Woodware stash and I have stamped it with the Pink Ink Designs Clear Stamp Hinge & Bracket A5 (PI043). I love the way that the stamp is perfect for butterfly decoration.

So I hope that you like my effort and why not have a go at some of the challenges?

Journal Cover

I have been researching Bullet Journaling for the past few months, making it difficult for myself because I had to make it mine! This weekend I made a cover for my journal. So here is the cover and some of the process. I will share more of the inside soon.

A project that I am really happy with!
This is the paint that I used. It is from Pink Ink Designs.

The paint is great for loads of different surfaces and has a lustre sheen I used the Atlantic Blue Lustre and the Turquoise Wave Shimmer, and of course Sparkle Star.

just squeeze out some paint on to a none stick mat and mix to vary the colour depth
I wanted a messy look. I have used Craft Canvas from my craft stash.
I stencilled the Turquoise Wave through the Lisa Horton Worn Hessian Stencil.
I hope that you can see the sparkle
For the inside I cut 2 pieces of thick A4 card 22 x 22 cm
Then I scored the 2 pieces of card to create a spine
I used book tape to tape the card together over lapping the spine for strength. Then I wrapped elastic around and tied it off. I wrapped the elastic around so that I could add three sections to my journal.
I used Pink Stamps Hinge and Bracket and stamped them on a separate panel. I hand wrote the word believe and then stitched the panel on the front.

While stitching it all together I added some more elastic to use as a closer.

I stitched it together then add the zig-zag to finish it off.

My workshops will start again in February and if you have anything that you would like me to do let me know. I think that Journals and books may feature! Thanks for visiting see you soon.

Woodware – Christmas Tags – Take 2

I’m back again with some more Christmas tags for Woodware Witterings, this time with a great Stampendous set

Truck Tidings is a cling rubber stamp and die set, by Stampendous, the trees are part of the set, but the truck would make great new home cards or moving cards too.

The trucks were stamped on blue card and cut out. The Stampendous dies all cut on the line, so give perfect results. I have coloured the trucks with Sakura Koi Brush Pens and the Clear Stardust Gelly Roll pen, for the bumper.

I have done the trees in blue paper too. I cut some white ones to write on, but I have not stamped them. The decoration is the White Pearl Pen from Dutch Doobadoo.

I added a silver brad at the top.

I have coloured around the tag with a Koi pen to add a tiny bit of colour. The tag is of course the Tag Top Punch.

I used double-sided tape to attach the front of the truck and a foam pad at the back so that it was easy to slip the tree in and out.

some navy gingham ribbon to finish them off.

Don’t forget to check what the rest of the team are up to over on Woodware Witterings

Woodware – Hobbies

This week on the Woodware Blog we are looking at hobbies, my hobby is sewing, but my sister loves knitting and for her birthday I have made her an apron to wear when kntting when knitting with wool that is fluffy wool that casts on your clothes.

I only have a childs form so the view is a bit limited.

here is the whole thing.

First I sprayed the apron through the Dutch Doobadoo Fabric Mask Art. I used the Red Fabric Spray a quick effective way to get colour on fabric through a stencil or to dye a small piece of fabric.

For the other colour I used Crafter’s Fabric ink in Aruba

I used the Aruba in a few places.

I used the Stone Crafters on tissue paper and coloured the images with fabric pens.

I have used the new Zig Decoupage Glue this glue is great and makes it possible to put napkins and other papers on to fabric. The stamp is Jane’s Clear Magic Ball of Wool

This one is Knit One Purl One also designed by Jane.

Woodware – Apertures and Punches

On the Woodware Blog this week we are looking at punches in apertures

but I have made my aperture on the inside. The greeting stamp is I Hope That… is a Woodware Just Words Stamp.

I have used the Super Duper Circle Punch on the card, first I folded the card in half and then put the punch on half way

The punches have a mark on the side so that it is easy to see the centre.

The spinner in the centre I used the Very Big Size Punch

For the flowers I have used the Multi Flower Punch, I have punched it from a 6 x 6 pad. On the edge I have embossed with the Purple Frantage
Powder Kit.  The gems are from the Triple Wave.

I have used Grape Embossing Powder around the edge.

I attached a thread between the 2 circles of flowers, and then attached it in the fold of the card.

then position the card so that the punched piece does not protrude from the closed card. Then fold closed, with tape on the other side of the of the card the insert will be in the correct place.

On the outside I used the Inspire Flower Punch and a Super Circle Punch.

 thanks for visiting

Woodware – Masking Technique

This week on the Woodware Blog we are looking at masking, and the girls have all had really interesting takes on it.

I have used Jane’s Bubble Heart Peel Offs as my mask.

I started at the top of the panel and stuck on the heart

I have scribbled the colour from Sakura Koi Brush Pens I used 2 shades of pink I have spritz water to blend the patches of colour.

then move the mask down and repeat

the three hearts sit nicely on the panel.

To make the panel to mount the main image I have used Crafter’s ink in Spiced Plum and again spritzed with water and blended it with the Blend-it tool. the panel has been die cut from the Stampendous Fitted Frames.

I the heart is on white linen card which I have coloured and cut around, then layered it on the die cut panel and then black card.

Thanks for visiting, and please check out what the rest of the girls have been up to.

Woodware and Crafty Card Makers and More – Special Woman

On the Woodware blog we are again sponsoring Crafty Card Makers this year so why not have a go at the challenge on there blog?

I have cheated a bit with this one, I have not done a card, and I have made something for me, but well I am special.

Clear Scraps have just released some wonderful phone stands in 3 styles, they are designed so that you can charge them on the stand and it should make it easier to find it when you are leaving home! Because they are acrylic they are good and strong so very long lasting and stable.

I have coloured the the acrylic with Color Solutions Alcohol inks.

I have stamped and embossed this Clear Magic stamp designed by Francoise You Are, I have used Lettuce embossing powder for this great stamp, good to reflect on as I leave the house and enter the big bad world! I have used the inverse corner punch and layered on black card, the distressing was done with the Mossy Mixed Media ink. These slow drying pigment inks are perfect for this.

positioned so you don’t see it until you lift off the phone.

I decided that the design needed some flowers Mini Flower Heads designed by Jane was a perfect choice. (this one is the mini version of the one that is named after me so perfect for this project)

and there we have it this will take pride of place in my kitchen!

Head over and check the Crafty Cardmakers site to find the rules and hopefully join in!

Thanks for visiting see you soon!

Funky Shaped Cards – Take 2

Poor Pam the Pampered Stamper is poorly so you have a second post from me this week, and I have stretched the theme a tiny little bit.

The card is a normal shape but it is in a funky bag, with a gift!

I have to thank Stampy Gwen from The Stamp Pad for the idea

Gwen give me this about a year ago and I had been looking for a reason to make one! (and I didn’t even have to pull it to pieces to work it out, which I am very pleased about, it did take a couple of goes to work it out)

first I started with an 8 x 8 inch square, and folded it in half along the diagonal

then I added 2 more score lines either side of the centre line

then I marked a 10cm centre portion, my Very Useful Ruler is perfect for this

I have drawn in the lines so that you can see them but just score them.

and fold in both sides.

then fold up.

My real one shows up the contrast from using double sided paper this is Roundabout

here you can see where I have taped it.

I decorated with some Peach Grosgrain ribbon.

When making the card I cut my Mixed Media to fit the space. Placed the stamps on.

Then added the block

and stamped! The stamps are Just Words Birthday Kisses and Ranunculus from Jane Gill.

When finished you have a double sided pouch

I made a card for each side and added some earrings

The flower is white and I have coloured it with the ink and added a brad and Steampunk Butterfly.

This finishes off one side

and I have completed it with a bow.

So thanks to Pam I got around to making this and thanks to Stampy Gwen for the idea!

See you soon

Woodware Sketch 49 – take 2

So here I have another version of this weeks sketch

Well I think it follows the sketch!

First I rather messily pasted the Dreamweaver Pearl Paste through  the Dreamweaver Zen Flower Stencil I have pasted it on to a 6 x 6 square of acrylic cut from the Clear Scraps 12 x 12 sheets. I have used a piece of a magnetic sheet under my stencil, I did tape it too, but not very well.

Then I added some Silver Holographic Glitter but not all over so you can still see the pearl paste.

for the inside I have used the Zen flower on a blue panel

I used the blue from the Gypsy 6 colour pad and a large stencil brush.

the panel sits inside the card. To help line it up in the right place I used the checks on my table cloth, but a cutting mat would be much better!

When it is closed the inside flower is off set.

the strip at the top I have stamped and embossed with that lovely Ice Blue Enamel powder, the stamp is from Francoise’s Doodle Daisy Clear Magic set.

Then I added one of the small frame brads from the box I have embossed it too. Then the ric-rac ribbon, I attached this with foam pads, I often use them when I have an uneven surface to attach.

I love using the acrylic sheets, but they are very difficult to photograph!

Thanks for visiting see you soon!
