Woodware Sketch Challenge

This week it another sketch for the Woodware Challenge, I really like doing these, it makes you think differently about your card.

I really should follow Francoise instructions and start with the papers that I want to use before I start to colour it would make life much less stressful.

I have used a Stampendous stamp Tiers of Treats and as usual I have coloured the cakes with USArtQuest Mica pallet , but I have also used Sakura pens and Tombow Pens, I don’t think that the photograph shows up the differences that using the different colouring methods give. The paper comes from a GCD 8 x 8 pad. I really like that these double sided pads. The background paper behind the stamped image was made with Memory Mist spray, the sprays are really good for creating papers I tend to do a selection at a time.

The corners were made with the must have corner rounder. The greeting comes from a Woodware Clear Magic Set by Francoise called Sharing Cuppa and the frame is from is from a Stampendous Perfectly Clear Set. The Woodware Inverted  Corner punch is a perfect fit for the frame.

I hope that you like this card, please play along with us and link your card on the Woodware Blog. Please visit again soon.

Birthday Wishes Woodware Challenge

I am posting first for the Woodware challenge this week, not sure if that is good or bad really.  The stamp that I have used is from Magenta it is called Daisy Corner and is available as a cling mounted stamp. I have again used the USArtQuest Stargazer palette to colour the flowers the palettes are so easy to use with a water brush and the effects are spectacular.

I have stamped the flower twice in Black Stazon and cut around it.

I have then cut out some of the flowers to add the extra ons to the card. I used Glossy Accents to apply the Micro Beads to the centre of the flowers. I have randomly curved the petals of the flowers and used differing highs of sticky fixers to give some movement to the overall effect.

The text is from a clear Stampendous set, Orchid Greetings it is one of my favourite greetings sets as I like the size  and style of the text. The box that the text is in is also from the same set I find the box useful for making a place for the text.

Well I hope that you like my card and that you will have a look at the rest of the cards this week on the Woodware Blog. It is Francoise turn tomorrow. Thank you for popping in.

Woodware Black and White Challenge

I love doing black and white cards, I think it is the crisp effect that you get so here is my entry to the Woodware Blog Black and White Challenge I have used a folded card for this sample, the original idea I saw first at Flawless Designs in Stirling a long time ago, so thanks to Angela.

I have used the Artemio Decorated Pear Mini Set

the card is 29.5cm long x 12cm wide. Score length ways all the way along. Then score across the card 6cm in from each end. Make a mark at 8cm on the centre score line from both ends. Make a mark at 10.5cm from the ends at both sides of the card, then fold up the card.

The border stamp from the set is a perfect size to stamp along the centre section of the card. I stamped the pear on white card and punched it with a Super Duper Square Punch and then layered it on to a black square cut from a Huge Square Punch.

Then attach the squares to the end diamonds on the card.

I punched the black squares that I mounted onto from folded cards so I used them up by making another couple of cards.

This is the outside of the card.

Inside of the card.

This card was done with a Magenta stamp 9 Square Hearts it is a good stamp for cutting here I have only used 4 of the nine squares on the inside , and then added an extra one at the bottom on the outside. a strip of white card and some ribbon finishes of the outside of the card.

I hope you are inspired by my simple black and white cards. For more info and more Black and White cards have a look at the Woodware Blog.

Thank you for stopping by.

Woodware Challenge 4 Bunch of Flowers

Bunch of Flowers

Bunch of Flowers

This week I have used layered peel offs  for my flowers, they are really good fun and they are a nice thing to play with when you just want to watch telly and fiddle without much effort. The thing that I like about the peel offs is that you can change the appearance and creat 3D cards with them.

This photograph lets you see that the peel offs have had a home made mix of pink flock and glitter added to the sticky side of them. First peel them off and add centres then add the flock glitter mixture. I used pink, blue and purple peel offs but only the pink glitter/flock mixture. By using the various colours of peel offs I got enough colour variety without the mess that I would have had around the kitchen and the dog with lots off different glitter and flock going around.

The stamped image in the background was done with Onyx Black Versafine and is from a Stampendous Shape Shifter set, if you have not tried shape shifting you really should very exciting! Fran’s video will reveal all Shape Shifting.

The edges were done with a sponge and Stargazer Mica watecolour pallet, and the water in the vase was done with the pallet and a water brush.

Here you can see I have been adding the centres to the pale green leaves from the dark green sheet.

I hope that you have enjoyed this card pop over to the Woodware Blog to see what the rest of the team have been up to.

This week we have a sketch challenge for week 3 of the Woodware blog challenge. I have created 2 cards using the sketch.

This week I have used a Magenta peel off’s in silver. I have then coloured it using Sakura metallic pens and and a water brush.

The background paper is also Magenta paper MEMOR-189. It is a paper with different patterned strips which are great for all sorts of things.

The second card is a landscape version.

This Stampendous image has been water coloured with the USArtQuest Stargazer Mica pallet.

Woodware Wedding Challenge Day 6

This is my first card for the Woodware Challenge  I hope that you like it! The card is made from an Artemio template that I really like as it is very versatile. I got a bit carried away with all the things on this card and it took rather a long time to make.

This is the inside of the card.

The template makes a cover and the inside pages.

You can see how it folds together to make the card. The stamps that I have used are Artemio Fun Wedding set and they were all stamped with versamark and embossed with gold powder. The gilding on the edges of the pages was done by running double sided tape around the outside and then covered with Gold Metal Leaf. The hearts are Mini and Large. On the front I have used a stencil and paste then covered the paste with PearlEx. The paste is acrylic and and the Mini punch made some really cute hearts from the extra bits that I cut off.

I coloured the ribbon with a Tombow pen a great way to get the colour that you want and since there is almost 100 Tombow pens you have lots of choice.

This is the main picture which is in the middle in the inside.

The End

Hop on over to the Woodware Craft Collection Blog and see what the rest of the girls have been up to this week. If you have a wedding card you like please add it to our blog.
